Why would I want to explore self-employment?
If you find your current employment frustrating, stressful, and less than satisfying, you may be suffering from the love my work, hate my job syndrome. If you are physically and emotionally exhausted, self-employment can improve your life personally and professionally.
Does this mean I should leave my hospital job?
Not always. You can start part time. Some nurses begin part-time self-employment while they continue employment part time.
Should I expect to enjoy my job?
Yes. NNBA member Clarissa Russo, RN, America’s foremost expert on career guidance for nurses, states that 80% of the time spent on a job should be enjoyable. Career counselors have followed that standard for years. No nurse should hate their job. |
